DeAndrey is an up and coming R&B artist, raised on the south side of Peoria, Il. DeAndrey turned to music to avoid the crime that plagued everyday life, and used that same music to keep him out of trouble. Growing up listening to all kinds of music and different artist such as Luther Vandross, Donnie Hathaway, New Edition, Jodeci, Teddy Pendergrass, and Jeffery Osbourne, just to name a few, music was in his blood. DeAndrey went on to record many songs, and was on numerous mixtapes and albums through out the Midwest area. In 2003, He went on a tour called the MIDWEST TALENT TOUR. There he teamed with other artist from areas such as Chicago and Indianapolis, and they toured big cities in search of trying to get signed to a major record label. Also in 2003 and again in 2005, DeAndrey auditioned for American Idol, doing very well in 2003, making it to the last round before he was to appear on TV. However, in 2005 he was told he was “TOO STREET” to appear on the show. He didn’t let that stop him though, he came back to Peoria, and auditioned for the UNSIGNED HYPE contest for THE SOURCE. There, he made it to the finals and was the only R&B artist to do so!!
DeAndrey is also an excellent performer. When he performs, he brings his 5 piece band along, giving the audience that feeling that only a live band can give. Over the years, he has opened for acts such as Boyz II Men, Dru Hill, Peaches & Herb, The Stylistics, The New Boyz , BlackStreet, Kool MOE DEE,Mint Condition, and also performed with Stokely from Mint Condition, just to name a few. He was featured in the magazine TWENTY4SEVEN as a new up and coming R&B Soul artist that’s changing the game. DeAndrey’s music has also been getting notice from television shows. He has been put on a show called LOVE HANDLES which is on the TV ONE network and also has other business ventures as far as TV in the makings. He also had an audition with the hit show EMPIRE, where his online audition got numerous views. In 2014 DeAndrey was a huge success at the DJ UNITED CONFERENCE in St. Louis as one of only two R&B acts there.
