Born on the 4th of July, greatness and big celebrations have surrounded Peoria, Illinois native Andre Devonte or AD for short, his entire life. As a young child listening to some of hip-hop’s most iconic acts such as 2Pac, Outkast, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and Aaliyah, AD knew his destiny was to be a recording artist and by the age of 9 he took his first steps in becoming an emcee.
Moving to different parts of the country in his youth also allowed AD to embrace and be a part of the various musical styles that each region had to offer giving him the opportunity to become a well-rounded emcee. Now at age 27 this artist is officially christened as Andre Devonte, he took the first step in his music career by creating his latest and first project entitled Lost Files. This was a challenge for this young aspiring artist as he had to balance the life of recording in a studio and life as a full-time employee. The two worlds often clashed with each other causing issues at his work and which led to AD’s eventual dismissal from his job. But all of the great ones have suffered setbacks and each time they picked themselves up off the floor and bounced back – and with that in mind Andre Devonte continued to move towards his dream.
Having learned from his mistakes, AD released his “Lost Files” EP which is now streaming on all musical platforms. He then immediately went to work on a follow up project which he won’t reveal the name of. With one project under his belt, AD prior has ventured into the acting world and had an appearance in the 2016 film “Jason Bourne” and in 2017’s “All Eyez On Me” the biopic about his musical idol Tupac Shakur. This talented artist has also managed to join a business venture with monster energy after recently signing a contract granting Monster permission to license 4 of his songs to use in a new video dropping in the early next year called the Unknown Ride 2 which will be a sequel to the Unknown Ride video that was released by the Unknown Industries in 2016 featuring well known riders Nick Leonetti, Buddy Suttle, Kade Gates, and Logan Lackey. The 4 songs released on the Lost Files EP are the same 4 songs that were recently licensed by Monster Energy. Now residing in Atlanta, GA AD is part of an untapped pool of talent from the region that’s waiting to be discovered. With his ability to use his voice to spit rhymes of precision or make smooth melodies, this young artist is in the same vein of other talented artists who are winning in the rap game by using their voice in a different manner of styles.
The sky’s the limit for this multi-talented entertainer and actor whose dream is to take Hollywood and the music industry by storm. When asked by myself what his overall message was to the world AD answered, “I am what I am, what I’m not I’ll never be. I know who I am and I know what I don’t know now, forever in your hearts I’ll be, I’m coming.”
