Jeffrey Scott Eaton is an Asian American hip hop artist who goes by the name Scott Free. Born in Taegu, South Korea he was adopted as a baby and came right to America. He grew up in Bloomfield a town in northern NJ not far from New York City. Not having the best childhood growing up he was forced to raise himself for the most part while dealing with physical and emotional abuse at home. His grandma was the closest relative who cared for him but passed away at age 10. Hip hop music was a huge influence as a kid and artists like Warren G, The Notorious BIG, Tupac Shakur, Cypress Hill, DMX, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Coolio, and Eminem were his biggest influences and the rappers he looks up to til this day. Being able to relate to those artists going through hard times and struggles really hit hard and inspired him to be a real genuine artist with the skills, talent, and song writing ability but most importantly to never give up and believe in yourself. School came easy but he was always getting into trouble and almost dropped out of high school. He began rapping at parties in high school and after being praised by friends he started writing verses and eventually songs. After high school he got into trouble with the law and ended up doing some time in jail for selling drugs, when he got out he worked hard to stay out of trouble and focus on getting his life together. Music never stopped in his mind and after a few years of being unsure he finally released his 1st project a mixtape release Scott Free Vol. 1. After hearing great positive feedback from fans and listeners all over the world he continued to drop single after single and got his music on all major platforms. A few years later he signed his first record deal with the label Bentley Records and also released his first music video for one of his most popular singles The Run Around. From years of making other connections with legends like Wu Tang, Lil Wayne, Redman, Black Rob and other local producers like Mr Green and Illmind he just did a feature with Pacewon from the legendary group The Outsidaz with Rah Digga, Bizarre, and Eminem. This new song Alone with Pacewon is about to be released on Oct 27th. Scott Free is focused on meeting more artists and industry connections while releasing music consistently independently and through his label Bentley Records. The sky is the limit and he will continue to work hard on his craft and song writing ability while doing whatever it takes to keep growing his fan base worldwide.
