Marq, born November 24, 1993, is an independent hip-hop artist currently making waves in his hometown,
Philadelphia, PA. A skilled lyricist with a no-nonsense approach, Marq continues to distance
himself from the mediocrity often found within the heavily populated space.
Marq’s creative journey traces back to his childhood when he started off writing poetry.
At fourteen, he teamed up with his bestfried Zeke who was creating beats at the time and released their first mixtape (88 Seasons) in 2016. Marq takes inspiration from several music genres including Soul, G-Funk, Hip-Hop, Alternative Rock, and Electronic. Artists who had an impact on his musical development include; Asap Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Tyler the Creator, and Curren$y.
Two of his recent tracks, “Soliloquy” (Sept. 2020) and “Smoove” (Feb. 2021), showcase
Marq’s abilities as a polished wordsmith and natural storyteller. His classic vibe and honest
lyrics give his music an authentic feel most can appreciate.

Performed in over thirty (30) shows in different cities such as New York, Baltimore, Essex County, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. Was also covered on a number of blogs including Black Philly Magazine, HipHopSInce1987, Rap Fiesta, Medium, and Pandas and Smoke. Was featured on Gillie Da Kid’s 2020 mixtape “The Cook Up”. Also, in 2020 Marq was cosigned by producer Mike Zombie after freestyling for him on IG live during quarantine. Hobbies include working with photoshop, collecting sneakers, and fashion.
