Chellz Tha Great aka Chellz is a Rapper/Songwriter originally from Newark,NJ. Chellz has become one of Hip Hop’s hottest underground artist. Using both his east coast style and southern up bringing. Chellz has a style all his on. His unique flow,songwriting ability,and pretty boy looks gives him a mass appeal. His first performance came at a school talent show in 4th grade. He excelled at playing basketball and earned a scholarship to play at SMCC in Summit,MS. After an ankle injury sidelined him for a year. Chellz began putting all his energy into music. He spent the next 2 years playing basketball at PCCC in Paterson,NJ. Graduated and went on to play at FMU in Florence,SC. It would be at FMU where Chellz the artist was born. He would become a campus legend. Performing at the schools talent shows,homecoming parties,and at local clubs in the area. He released his independent album Tha Promise in November of 2013. This album would highlight Chellz talent for songwriting. He shined bright on songs like Ear Candy and Trilluminati and gave a peek into his life with songs like Tha Regret. Not to mention all of this was paid for by Chellz. Not backed by any label major or indie. Chellz managed to sell a thousand CDs hand to hand. The Cd’s were all pressed up like they came out of a retail store bar coded and wrapped in plastic. He also had it online for fans to stream and download. In other words Chellz was his own label. Chellz is the perfect example of an artist believing and investing in themselves.
