True character is based upon how you handle adversity and the way you handle adversity will make or break your success. Nephew Slim’s life has been a testament to these words. From the fast life of early fatherhood, street life, run ins with the law and sitting in jail cell with broken ribs, he has had to overcome much adversity to get to where he is today.
Born and raised in South Atlanta, Nephew Slim has always been a music fanatic. He describes Bob Marley as his idol and biggest musical influence and that would explain the melodic, soul rebel vibe you get from Nephew’s music. Nephew has a signature sound and genre that he refers to as highway music. You can let Nephew Slim’s music play in your car on that road trip without having to skip a song.
At the age of 14, Nephew cleaned out his mom’s computer room and turned it into a recording studio. The first song he ever made was called Swaggin Everyday and that was his first step towards becoming the musician he is today. He got his name “Nephew Slim” from his uncle who used to rap and Nephew used to help him write raps. Nephew was also part of a rap group back in 2012 and that helped develop his talent and get his name out more in Atlanta for music. He had a message to get out and he had a talent. He could feel his music getting better and better and he wanted the world to hear it.
Nephew Slim released his debut EP titled “My Psychiatrist” in 2017 featuring the hit single “Frequent Flyer” and club bangers “Hit My Line” and “Explore It” and “Notice Me” is a smooth summer jam to ride to. In 2019 he released his second EP titled “I AM SLIM” which is currently streaming everywhere.
