RS3 derives From “R”obert “S”hepard “III” at first his name was SHEP then BLACKLIONSHEP which is a nick name he got from his neighborhood called MSM. 3601 is the address where shep lived at in Vicksburg Mississippi.
RS3 started recording his musical talent at the of 10. He started performing at family events & gradually as years progressed, so did his music, he went from being a solo artist and joined a group called TIPPAZ.
After 1 year with the group he decided to go back doing music as an independent artist. His 1st breakthrough was when he opened up a major showcase for Louisiana’s recording artist LIL BOOSIE. Afterwards he continued his path of engaging with Major Recording artists as Cali Swag District, Bun B, T.I., Webbie & even has touched bases with Lil Wayne.
RS3 moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 2010, while he was there he was homeless for 3 months, but while he was homeless he was survived by selling his freshman project 3.6.0.1. & a collaboration project with Charlie “619” Brown. When he came back to Mississippi on Oct.26th 2010 he continued his career with his music & created another project entitled Networking Musik Vol.1 which released on Sept.16th 2011.
RS3 honors Sept16th every year because this is the day that his father died on. After Networking Musik Vol.1 shep came up with an R&B project entitled COOL LOVE which debuted on 2/14/2012. He performed at blues shows & 50 + events all over Mississippi even crossing into Atlanta, Ga.
Shortly after he learned that he can transition his music & style to different levels & genres of music.
His very 1st single that hit airwaves like 99.7 wjmi & 97.7 in Jackson Ms was entitled ” Feeling good “.
RS3 was becoming a force to wreckoned with in Mississippi. He went to Atlanta Ga a lot to perform the single in front of Apache Cafe ( which is an open mic event where T.I.’s A&R’s come and scout talent ) the same place where B.O.B. got his jumpstart with music. In 2013 RS3released his freshman album entitled OUTSIDE LOOKING IN which was a real enticing project where his fans were engaging on all social sites promoting his album.
In October of 2013 Shep released another singled called SOLO ft. Be You , this song sold very good on itunes. Also it was streamed alot on YouTube, Google+, Reverbnation & also made a major impact on Twitter with other artists & his fanbase.
In 2014 & 2015 RS3 took a break from music to learn why his craft wasn’t reaching the audience he needed or why has all his efforts of trying to make it to the billboards wasn’t working. Shep realized that he had an 12th grade education with an G.E.D. that he figured that he should go back to school & learn the business of the music industry. He attened Minnesota School of Business, Hinds Community College & Full Sail University. He accomplished his goals while taking care oF, at the time, 4 kids RS3’S grind & determination comes from the love from his kids. They motivate him to continue to be a better person & a god fearing man who is humble under the looking eye of GOD.
His music reflects himself & the sruggles he has faced throughout life.
He witnessed his mother in jail because she killed his father.
He was in deep depression & wanted to give up on his music carrer, But the motivation from his grandparents Shirlene & Robert Lee gave him hope, so he continued to push on, knowing that one day his chance would come & he could fulfill his dremas & take care of his family & his grandparents.
RS3 is currently working a new project entitled “VML2F” Voted Most Likely 2 Fail. The project is projected to release on Spinrilla on 1/1/17.
