Xwavy

African born musician Xwavy entered the music scene in the early 2010s. Since then, he has been making impressive strides as a young artist, with no signs of slowing down. In light of his continuously growing success, the mixed African music artist sees life as a blessing and takes nothing for granted.

Starting from very humble beginnings, Xwavy was born in Liberia in 1996. However, at a young age, civil war and unrest in his country forced his family to immigrate to Canada. Though many new potential opportunities were presented, life for him was still an immense difficulty.

Seeking ways to cope, athletics became a perfect outlet, and he boasted impressive talent as a basketball ball player throughout Jr. High and High School. However, he still was searching for a more creative way to express himself and handle the afflictions of his past.

With encouragement from close family, Xwavy was able to find solace in writing and producing his music. And although he continued athletics through to the end of his senior year, at aged 16, he was excitedly motivated to merge away athletics, focusing on turning his passion for music into a career.

Life after graduation, however, was not easy. He found himself struggling on the streets, feeling as though his music dreams were slipping away. Despite this, he continued to find comfort in expressing his pain through writing and translating that through to his songs. This was an immense part in helping him through the hard periods of his life and over time, allowed him to find peace and a new positive perspective towards life.

As the years progressed, he began recording and uploading his music to various online platforms. His fan base grew as people found reliability and comfort in his uplifting sounds and influential lyricism. This motivated him to continue perfecting his music artistry and expressing his story through multiple music genres.

Independently amassing an impressive fan base from his music and social media, Xwavy generated enough buzz that got him signed in 2018 to WYSE Management. From the hip-hop party anthem of his single release in 2019 “Outer Space” to the fan-favorite R&B mid-tempo-ed vibe of his single “Call Me” released in 2020, he continues to impress a wider international audience. Attracting prominent people within the industry, Xwavy is set to not only release brand new singles, but his first EP “Believe In Yourself”.

“Life is like a roller coaster, things don’t last … jus trust and believe in yourself. The hard times will pass, and you will become who you wanna be. You just have to believe in yourself.” – Xwavy.
