Born as Jawaun Nettles , goes by stage name Waun G was originally born in Atlanta, Georgia Feb 5, 1998. He got inspired by music at an early age since his mom was a singer and would play any genre you can think of from her speakers in the living room , filling the house up with sound. Growing up in Atlanta he has always been surrounded by hip hop artists and able to in person see the likes of Sammy Sam, Dem Franchize Boyz,T.I.,Young Dro, Shawty Lo & a host of others and just the whole music scene in Atlanta that made his dream more realistic. Around middle school he moved to Belleville, Alabama and really got around a lot of close fàmily and friends that pushed him to start writing and recording music because of his unorthodox freestyling skills that him and his older brother took pride in. Once he graduated high school he relocated to Killeen,Texas where the magic began to start behind the mic in the booth, or simply in a living room. The quality of music and producers in Texas began to get him more exposure in the South and that’s when he recorded his first project/EP titled “Waves”, that contained some of his standout hits such as “Vent” and “Lost Roads”. While still recording and releasing other standout songs such as “2A.M.”,”Wins & Losses” & “Married To The Game”, his music got picked up by an A&R at independent record label Bentley Records out on New York,NY where he soon signed his first record contract as an artist.
